Bleached Wood Hand-Crafted Bench

A large old and very piece of timber has been in our warehouse for many years. The time has come to create something beautiful and the trend for preserving timber in its natural form has inspired us to create a bench.

Wayne belt sanded the surface of a very old and thick piece of elm, followed by a hand sanding to a smooth finish.The wood has a lovely natural bleached colour with natural curvature through the sides.

The depth of the wood top is 10cm thick (4") the base has been constructed from reclaimed timber to support the heavy top.

The wood has been treated and finished for outdoor use. It would also work well inside with a lime washed table combined with chairs.

We specialise in chest of draws, mainly painted but if we find an antique wooden version  in a beautiful colour and grain we wouldn't dream of painting it

French boudoir style stool

Purchased last year ....this wonderful boudoir style stool, the silk is worn, faded and marked, part of the charm, but perhaps a little too shabby chic. I am contemplating whether to re-cover. Do I sell it? (I wouldn't cover it if I kept it) it is so unusual. The centre of the stool has a three dimensional star, difficult to see from the photograph. It would look wonderful in a boudoir style shoe shop. A project and decision for the new year!
