No21 Antlers.

With the trend and popularity of Antlers we have found a source from a British deer park where the deer have died naturally. We have mounted them on aged wood with a limewax finish.

Collection revealed!

The historical shoes in the photos above are some examples from our collection at home. I love the neutral colours, quality, intricate stitching and bead work from varying historical periods.

Having started my career in fashion and first job in footwear, my passion for shoes has always remained. As a designer I spent hours in the Clarks Shoe Museum and Bath Museum of Costume looking for inspiration. I have collected shoes from a child with fond memories of rummaging at jumble sales for treasures. I have shoes by Mary Quant, Biba and crazy examples of 1970's patchwork all in storage. It is a long way from what I do now but every now and again a shoe appears!

No21 Madonna Scene (Sold)

At No21 we love to collect eclectic pieces. We believe this plasterwork of a Madonna scene came from a church or a large hall, it is wonderfully detailed.
We believe that religious objet d'art will be a strong trend in a few years and all that has a spiritual content. Some evidence of this trend has started in the vintage market. You don't have to be religious to be calmed by such works of art.

Please take a look at INSPIRE where I report on trends in design that will define the seasons ahead.

No21 Chandelier (Sold)

We love the design of this chandelier which encases one bulb only. Antique chandeliers reflect lots of light, this one really sparkles.

No21 colour palette 'Subtle colours within grey'

The work of http://www.alabamachanin.com/ has inspired a grey colour palette. With grey being the new black, let's not forget the subtle tones of the grey colour palette...from green-greys, pink-greys to warm brown-greys.

No21 interior workshop will introduce you to the world of colour and colour theory. A day of inspiration with an insight into interior trend prediction for 2011. The themes cover five styling choices from vintage to contemporary. I will nuture your individual aspirations and provide you with a design process that you can apply to any project in the future.

If you are interested in finding out more about the course please email info@no21.co.uk

P.s The course is one day but I am in the process of developing a 2 day course.

No21 'Rare' Victorian Terrarium £275 (sold)

Rare to find a Victorian terrarium with the original glass!

During the Victorian Era and predominantly in England terrariums or "Wardian Cases" became very popular and many people kept them in their homes. They have now made a comeback.
The art of the terrarium is credited with a man called Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward. His invention came from the desire to watch an insect chrysalis transform into an insect so he placed it in a glass bottle. But to his surprise a seedling fern sprouted inside the bottle. The plant continued to thrive for four years with no watering.
From this he devised further experiments and the science of the terrariums, was born. For a very long time these small glass enclosures were named Wardian Cases after him, it is generally not well known and we call them terrariums.

'No21 ideas'

Victorians used flowers under glass, I have found these lovely metal roses in gorgeous dusky rose colours that look great displayed under this small dome...a wonderful table arrangement.
It would make a lovely Valentines present....I will try to inspire some alternative ideas for gifts in the shop this year
