Painted Rectory Staircase - Loft Extension

Walls painted in Dulux Diamond Snowman
It was a long way down - four flights and hundreds of spindles later,
all requiring many layers of paint.

...and always many screw holes to fill on a new staircase

Finally, the stair rail was oiled to show the natural wood

Original Windows Restored and Painted

No21 Painting & Decorating love restoration projects - this Rectory window with stained glass was in poor condition - our customer chose white paintwork in keeping with the rest of the house, and pale grey walls - Dulux Diamond Snowman

Luckily glass the panels were not broken however the wood was in poor condition from many years of neglect, mould and dirt, and in parts it required filling.

The etched glass was covered in a dirty haze, similar to a limescale - this was carefully scraped off (above - left side cleaned)

A new window sill was fitted and required many layers of paint

We finished the project inside - the outside needs a few more days of sunny weather before we can complete and hand over to the window cleaners.

External Doors Painted - French Style Courtyard

Two external doors finished this week. Our customer chose a colour called - Plush Velvet 1 - High Gloss Dulux paint to blend with her French style courtyard garden of lavender and blue based flowers.
The doors will take approx two weeks to dry thoroughly
(they will appear dry to touch in a day but scuffing and knocking should be avoided)
We will return in a few weeks to tidy the glass from any remaining old paint.

It was perfect weather to paint the oil based undercoat
and two coats of high gloss with drying time in between each coat.

The external door (above) was next to the road, it had been bleached by the sun, the wood split, and the paint peeling. This painting process required thorough preparation, intensive filling and rubbing down to a smooth finish.

This Week New Build - Painting in Somerset

This week - we've painted the interior of a new build house. Only 13 more houses to paint. One of our painters is looking overwhelmed - don't worry they haven't been plastered yet.

Bathroom Completed in a Georgian Property Somerset

Our customer chose a traditional white bathroom suite contrasting with a refreshing colour - Mint Macaroon - Dulux Trade Eggshell (a pastel blue with a tint of aqua)
Tiles from Somerset Tiles

Early properties often require lots of prep work e.g small cracks around the edges of ceilings and the corners of a room.

A bathroom re-vamp may be a project you don't wish to paint yourself; perhaps you have a high ceiling, an awkward space for ladder access or lots of cutting in - imagine, our customer came back from holiday to a freshly painted bathroom and lovely sunny weather.
